Exhibition report on Posidonia 2008
Every two years, Greece is hosting Posidonia, one of the greatest international shipping exhibitions. Posidonia 2008 was held at the the Hellenicon Exhibition Centre in Athens from the 2nd to 6th of June. Propelled by an outstanding boom in shipbuilding industry, the exhibition turned out to be a great success. More than 1,700 exhibitors from 81 countries participated in Posidonia (100 more exhibitors were present compared to the last time). Entire 27,500 square meter exhibition hall space was filled with exhibition stands.
FURUNO with its Greek Distibutor Mareleq hosted the FURUNO stand there, exhibiting IMO radar, ECDIS, and totally new broadband satellite communications solutions, "Inmarsat FleetBroadband".
A bar area was arranged within the stand where both the FURUNO staff and visitors could enjoy drinks and light snacks. That section of the stand was an ideal place for them to socialize, and numerous informal meetings amongst them took place.
To demonstrate FURUNO's strength not only for hardwares but also in the client support scheme, demonstrations for the education system of INS training center as well as a virtual bridge set-up software, Bridge Builder were conducted.
