Establishment of FURUNO Shanghai
FURUNO ELECTRIC CO., LTD. is pleased to announce that the opening ceremony of FURUNO SHANGHAI CO., LTD. (FSHC) was successfully held on the 1st of August 2007.
Although the opening ceremony was held in the mid-summer heat, it was attended by 60 persons from CCS (China Classification Society), banks, insurance companies, other associated companies as well as FURUNO’s national distributors in China. Also, directors from FURUNO HONGKONG CO., LTD. and FURUNO SOFTEC (DALIAN) CO., LTD. were present at the ceremony together with FSHC staff members and several officers and staff members from FURUNO HQ.
After the ceremony, all at FSHC reaffirmed their motivation and resolve to live up to the expectation they receive from the maritime industry in the global sphere through a number of complimentary messages and remarks from the guests.
During the ceremony, the Chairman of FURUNO, Mr. Kiyoyuki Furuno gave an honorary greeting speech, which read:
Chinese shipbuilding industry has seen continuing expansion in the recent years with over 400 new buildings having been constructed for ocean-going merchant fleets every year, and this trend is expected to sustain in the years to come. Subsequently, it is also anticipated that the market share of FURUNO high-end navigation and communication equipment package, including Integrated Navigation System “VOYAGER INS” will continue to grow rapidly.
Under these circumstances, FURUNO feels it as of absolute necessity to conduct thorough inspection on equipment installation prior to vessel’s delivery to the customers. This is the logic behind the establishment of FSHC. Although its operating field is initially contained within Shanghai area, FURUNO envisages enhancing technical staff members to deliver the service to the customers all over China in the foreseeable future.
Maintaining high quality throughout the whole process of product delivery to after-sales service provision as well as responding swiftly to the voice from the market will lead to customer satisfaction. The establishment of FSHC is one of the moves to facilitate swift and efficient service provision in the global sphere. FURUNO believes that FSHC will greatly contribute to enhancing service provision, hence winning reliability from the customers in the growing Chinese shipping and shipbuilding industry.
