FURUNO strengthens its tie with the Liaoning province, China

FURUNO welcomed delegations from the People's Government of Liaoning province, China and Shandong Bohai Ferry Co., Ltd., in March 2007.

On the 1st of March, a delegation from the People's Government of Liaoning province paid a courtesy visit to the FURUNO Headquarters. The delegation was led by Mr. Liu Guoqiang, Vice-Governor of the People's Government of Liaoning Province.

Welcoming the delegation, the President of FURUNO, Mr. Yukio Furuno, gave a greeting speech. During the speech, he emphasized the strategic importance of the tie with the Chinese industry and society, which FURUNO has been building up throughout the past quarter of a century. He also expressed the wishes for maintaining and further strengthening cooperation between China and FURUNO in the future.

Two weeks later on the 13th of March, the top management of Shandong Bohai Ferry Co., Ltd., led by General Manager Mr. Yu Xinjian and Vice General Manager Mr. Jia Mingyang, has also paid a courtesy visit to the FURUNO Headquarters.

Shandong Bohai Ferry Co., Ltd., is one of the largest passenger liners operating in China. FURUNO has delivered its products for quite a number of its ships thus far, perhaps most notable of which is the new ferry "Bo Hai Yin Zhu". "Bo Hai Yin Zhu" is the largest car ferry in China. The ferry, which has only just started its service, has full range of FURUNO navigation and communication equipment installed.

The meeting was conducted in amicable atmosphere where Shandong Bohai Ferry Co., Ltd., expressed satisfaction from the working relations that both companies have been developing. Also, it was agreed to maintain the mutual working relations in the future.

China has been and continues to be an important partner for FURUNO. These courtesy visits will lead to our further determination to strengthen our significant working relations with China.
